Getting the patio and garden ready for springtime
As the spring flowers are peeping their wee heads above ground even as frost and snow have not yet finished visiting the garden, we turn our thoughts to cleaning up for the summer season. It is not too early to give some attention to the patio, the lawn, and the garden beds.
Feed the grass
Feeding the lawn now will give it a good start for the year ahead. We recommend Green Force – lawn feed, weed and moss killer in one for both ease of use and for great results. You will have to wait for a dry day with little wind about and while grass is still moist. Spread it out and give it a good water in two days it if it has not rained on your work (Fine chance of that!) The weeds are tough old things and may take up to 5 weeks to disappear, but the moss will blacken immediately and can be raked out in the weeks ahead. The lawn itself will have thicker growth and a fine lush green colour. A little bit of effort with this dual feed and weed product will be well worth it.
Getting rid of ugly Algae
It has been a warmish and a wettish winter and it’s the ideal time for green and red algae to grow on cement or concrete. Humidity causes algae and fungus to cling to our homes and outhouses. Its not a hard job to get rid of this unsightly growth, and its advisable as it will permanently discolour its host if it gets the chance. Apply Mosgo algae remover with a spray and it will kill and prevent the re growth of algae and lichen. It is great for creating a clean base prior to painting. Just apply and allow to dry. A dry spring day is the ideal setting for getting this particular job done. As always, is you need advice on any of the products we sell, our friendly staff at The Dandy’s Derrynoose are more than happy to assist.
A clear path ahead
Decks and patios never look their best after the ravages of winter. Mosgo have a path and patio cleaner that is concentrated and effective on bringing the paths, patios, and driveways back to their former glory. Removing moss, algae, dirt, and stains by just simply pouring on to then area with a watering can. Great for crazy paving and gaps between bricks. You can use this product all year round and it’s just brilliant when the moss is trying to do its summer take over.
